Shopify doesn't ask customers when.
Out of the box, Shopify has no "when do you want this?" field. Customers place orders with no date. You scramble. They email asking. Everyone's frustrated.
Date Pilot adds a clean, configurable date picker to your cart or product page. Customers choose. You see it. Done.
Fix this in 5 minutes →Without Date Pilot
"Hi, when will you deliver? I needed it for Saturday." — Customer email #47 this week
No scheduling control
Orders pile up on the same day, you have no prep time, and you can't block holidays.
Manual back-and-forth
You DM every customer to confirm dates. That's not a business, that's a second job.
With Date Pilot
Customer picks their date at checkout. Order comes in tagged. You fulfil by date. Everyone's happy.
Up and running in minutes.
No code. No theme edits. Add the app block, configure once, ship forever.
Install & add the block
Install Date Pilot from the Shopify App Store. Add the app block to your cart or product page in the Theme Editor — no code required.
→Configure your rules
Set your available days, lead time, cutoff time, blackout dates, and time slots. Takes about 3 minutes. Change anything anytime.
→Customers pick, you ship
Customers see the date picker at checkout. Their chosen date is saved to the order. Your dashboard shows every upcoming order sorted by date.
Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.
Orders sorted by ship date
Your dashboard shows every upcoming order sorted chronologically. See what ships today, this week, or next month — at a glance, no digging required.
Blackout dates
Block holidays, vacations, or any date you don't want orders. Set them to repeat every year automatically.
Lead time & cutoff
Set how many days ahead customers must book, and a daily cutoff time that shifts bookings to the next day.
Three delivery modes
Local delivery, store pickup, or standard shipping. Enable the ones that apply to your store.
Per-product overrides
Different lead times for different products. Custom jewellery takes 5 days; a greeting card ships next day.
Automatic order tags
Every Shopify order gets tagged with the ship date automatically. Filter your orders natively in Shopify.
Matches your theme
Customise the widget colour, font size, and copy to match your store. No generic date pickers.
Built by a solo dev.
Supported personally.
Date Pilot is built and maintained by a single developer based in Canada — not a faceless offshore team cranking out 20 apps at once.
When you email support, you're talking to the person who wrote the code. That means faster fixes, honest answers, and features built for merchants who actually need them.
Simple, honest pricing.

Customers pick dates. You ship on time.
Every order comes in with a scheduled date. Your dashboard shows who ships when. No more guessing.
Everything you
might wonder.
Does it work with my Shopify theme?
+Yes. Date Pilot uses Shopify's native App Block system, which is compatible with all Online Store 2.0 themes (the standard since 2022). If you're on an older theme, the widget can be added via a snippet — our setup guide covers both.
Can I set different delivery date rules per product?
+Yes, on the Pro plan. You can give any product its own lead time, available days, time slots, and blackout dates. Great for when a custom cake needs 5 days but a greeting card ships next day.
What happens to the selected date when a customer orders?
+The selected date is saved to the Shopify order as a note attribute and as an order tag (e.g. ship-date:2026-05-15). It appears in your Date Pilot dashboard and in Shopify's native order view. Nothing gets lost.
Can I block Christmas and other holidays from the date picker?
+Absolutely. Add any date as a blackout — one-off or recurring yearly. Set a "Reason" for your own reference. Customers simply won't see those dates available in the picker. Canadian federal holidays can be added in one click.
What if I get too many orders on one day?
+Enable capacity limits on the Starter plan. Set a max number of orders per day, or per time slot. Once the limit is hit, that date or slot becomes unavailable to new customers automatically.
Is the delivery date required at Shopify checkout?
+Your choice. You can make it optional or block the checkout button until a date is selected. The "block checkout" setting with a custom message is the most popular configuration for food and flower shops.
Does Date Pilot offer a free trial?
+Yes — 14 days free on Starter and Pro, no credit card required. There's also a permanent free plan with core features, so you can try everything before deciding.
Who built Date Pilot and will it be maintained?
+Date Pilot is built and maintained by a solo developer based in Canada. Support replies within 24 hours on weekdays. Every merchant gets direct access to the person who built it — not a ticketing system.
